Behind The Board – Camp & Jam 2013

20130713_193304This past weekend we got to be a part of a great first time event titled Camp & Jam in Amsterdam, NY. This was one of the most fun weekend events we have been involved with. The event was planned, organized, promoted, and hosted by the Perthshire’s  David Kluska and the staff at Perthshire. Starting after 2pm Saturday afternoon DJ Anthony Parisi began spinning tracks. Soon after 3pm bands began taking the stage to jam while people set up their tents on the outside perimeter of this huge field. Around 9pm the first of the main acts, Conehead Buddha from Albany,  NY took the stage for a performance that ran about 3 hours. Conehead only took one break while we watched a fire dancing exhibition in the field. Once Conehead Buddha (an 8 piece band) was cleaned up, the stage was reset for Mirk, a 7 piece  power hip hop band out of Albany as well. Mirk put on a powerful and energetic set mixing Pop/R&B with powered up Hip Hop similar in a way to Linkin Park.

This event turned out to be a great exposure to the music scene taking place in the Albany, NY area and we look forward to doing it again next year. The staff at Perthshire deserve a lot of praise for their work and dedication to this first time event. Everyone working this event were incredibly friendly and full of enthusiasm. The facility itself was just amazing. This huge 65 acre facility handles all kinds of events from weddings and parties, to corporate events and outdoor parties. They have a beautiful setting perfect for those wedding photos. We loved it there! If you need a place for your event/party and you’re in that area (or don’t mind taking a ride) check out their website at www.perthshireofperth.com

This Thursday we will be back at the Captain Lawrence Brewery for the next NEXT Music Charity Concert Series event featuring pop country artist Jessica Lynn. This one is going to be a lot of fun and dancing! Jessica’s show will be pre-warmed by the great one Steven Wright Mark. Actually, Steven is in Jessica’s band as well. That should tell ya this is going to be great! We say it every time, if you haven’t been to the brewery for one of these shows, this is a good one to start. Bring a cowboy hat and some boots! Captain Lawrence Brewery is so easy to find right of I-287 in the White Plains area. Easily accessible to CT and NJ as well as the Westchester and Putnam County New Yorkers.

Behind The Board – Coming Together Nicely

Last Thursday’s installment of the NEXT Charity Concert Series instilled us with a sense of pride. It’s a nice gift to work the same venue once a month or so, but when it is a brewery with the variables we meet each show and we turned it into a concert hall? Well, it just fills you up with pride to see it all come together. Now we don’t take all the credit. We don’t take much of it. Just our part in making it sound like Madison Square Garden! Chris Bro of NEXT deserves much of the credit for all his work for the love of music! And of course Captain Lawrence Brewery deserves much notice as incredible hosts of these shows.

Working with The Attic Ends last week we got to sit back and enjoy the
fruits of our fine tuning labors. But! Not without earning it this time! Setting up seemed like what ever could go wrong did go wrong. From electrical issues (sound engineer “B” got electricuted even) that were attempting to blow up our equipment to grounding issues. But once sound check was done and the lights went out, Charlie Scopoletti took the stage and warmed up the crowd to ultimately one of the finest tuned breweries this world will see. Charlie, who also opened up last month’s NEXT show for Glint, is an amazing performer. We enjoyed working with Charlie and he really puts on an excellent show.

Last year at Paulie’s in Pleasantville, NY we got to work with The Attic Ends for the first time. It was a wonderful show, but this time would be different. This time would be the big sound of Captain Lawrence Brewery! It was amazing to see how far The Attic Ends have come as a band in the last year. With their new album, Fortress, being released we were treated to some amazing new songs. The show had more flow to it (or even more flow) and more energy. The new tracks came across great.

As a production company though, we really sat back thrilled by the overall sound we now get from this venue. Next up we get to work with American Pinup this Friday. This is our first time working with American Pinup but watching their videos gives one the impression of Imelda May with more power.

This show is at the brewery again. Although not a part of the NEXT series, it is going to be a great show. So come out and see how a brewery can be the greatest Rock Venue this Friday at Captain Lawrence!

Behind The Board – May Flowers May Shows

Well. Our post titles are never really that good anyways. But our schedule in May is crazy! Weddings, High School gigs, social events and concerts! This past Friday we worked at Briarcliff High School as the kids put together a little music performance to raise money for their local hospital. It was labeled “Songs For A Cause”. This was the fifth annual performance from what we’ve been told. It was a lot of fun for us. Some of the performances were written by the kids that performed them. Many of the kids had no experience performing in front of a crowd. Taking a chance in the spotlight for the first time is a brave moment. All of these kids should be proud of their performance. This makes us feel like there is still is hope for the future of music! Bravo Briarcliff High! What a great show!

May 16th we get to work with another great band. The Attic Ends will perform for the NEXT Charity Concert Series at Captain Lawrence Brewery . We got our first chance to work with The Attic Ends last year at Paulie’s. They’re such a great bunch of talented people! Just friendly, good hearted people! It’s easy to become an instant fan! Their eclectic, winding music sways you while the light airy notes of Samantha Rex hit your heart center! They’re coming out in support of their newest full release, Fortress. Go over to the event page on Facebook and click going! Invite your friends!

Attic Ends May

This month’s charity is Guardian Angel Rescue! Guardian Angel “works to provide second chances for unwanted companion animals. We work with the breeds that get overlooked. The “Bully Breeds” – Rottweilers, Pitbulls, German Shepards, Huskys, Mastiffs, Cane Corsos, etc. Guardian Angel Rescue is made up of all loving, experienced volunteers.” We’re happy to see this one as this cause needs more attention and understanding.

On May 24th we will be back at the brewery for another show. This time we will get a chance to work with American Pinup. The energy level at this show should be a lot of fun! We’re looking forward to this! This is a free show so come on out and have a couple brews with us!

Behind The Board – Spring Music

Here we are. Not but a week a way from the start of spring and our spring music schedule is loaded with great shows. Chris Bro from NEXT announced his spring concert schedule a few days ago from South by Southwest (SXSW)in Austin, Texas. The series, which supports different charities for each performance, will continue to be held at the Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford, NY.

The NEXT schedule is posted with the rest of our public schedule on our Calendar page here on our website. NEXT returns from SXSW in Spril with Glint, an ElectroPop band out of the Hudson Valley, NY area. In May one of our favorite bands, The Attic Ends, will return to NEXT in support of a new release. June brings Wild Adriatic’s solid rock show through the brewery. We have been proud to be a partner to NEXT over the years. Watching the Captain Lawrence Brewery incarnation of NEXT grow the way it has has been exciting for us.

The series is still accepting sponsors so if your company is interested you can contact Chris Bro through www.allthingsnext.com. You should also contact Chris if you would like your charity involved in his NEXT Charity Concert Series.

We also will be returning to the brewery for a show in May with American Pinup. We will discuss more about that show in a future post.

It is also important to mention BNK Production’s newest relationship with Maxim Records. We will be working with a number of their talents in upcoming performances. The first show will be a sold out show this April at the Winery in St George. Having had the chance to sit in a studio and observe the show rehearsals a few weeks ago, we”re pretty excited about getting to work with Maxim and their talents.

The Calendar page is a new feature to our website. It will only show you the public events that our DJ’s, bands, and production staff are working on. All private events will not be listed there for the time being. So if you need a DJ or small event production at your Wedding, Party, Corporate Event, or Speaking Engagement, contact us through the contact page here on the site or call us at 203-200-0265. Keep an eye on our calendar for more changes to come too the music schedule as well. This is going to be an exciting spring!
