Behind The Board – Starting Where We Started

This year is starting in a great way for us. Our first concert this year will be Black Taxi. The third time in a year that we’ll have worked with them. The show will be for NEXT Music (allthingsnext.com) Charity Concert Series which is how we started the music season last year! In style with My Pet Dragon at Paulie’s in Pleasantville, NY. This year will be at the Captain Lawrence Brewery, our most fun venue! We’re expecting this show to sell out just like the last time we worked with Black Taxi at Captain Lawrence Brewery. We’re also expecting this to be just as fun as last time! So if you are going to the show this Thursday get your tickets at Captain Lawrence’s website (linked above).

Winter is usually slower for us. Not that the music stops, but there are a lot less weddings, festivals, and corporate events once you get past Christmas and New Years. Some birthday parties get planned. The biggest holiday of winter is Valentine’s day and that usually doesn’t draw crowds to large parties. Weddings do happen but really not a lot. This is where we get to work more on recording music and also catch up on new music we haven’t seen.

This is also the time where we begin scheduling our DJs and bands for the coming seasons weddings and festivals, so please give us a call (203) 200 – 0265 and get on the schedule soon.

Last year was a busy year for us. We had some milestone events happen in 2012 as well as some amazing fun! We did a small gallery of pics to give you a view of last years moments. Most pics were taken by Doug at Focus In Digital. Some were taken by camera phones as well. You should be able to tell the difference!  Keep any eye out on our blog for pics and recordings from this Thursday’s Black Taxi gig and also links to recordings from last years great events coming up soon.

Behind The Board – Behind The Camera (For a Moment)

Well. Our partner in Focus in Digital had been booked to a prior engagement leaving BNK Pro on their own for photography last weekend at the NEXT Charity Concert Series. Such a shame too! We had My Pet Dragon at the Captain Lawrence Brewery! My Pet Dragon are another of the great Brooklyn bands. They’re strong performers with simple but anthemic songs. This night was an incredible night from them in such a cool setting. It’s always good to hear them live. Especially as their song Moonshine is an excellent live song! Simple but full of energy!

On the production side, when we arrived to set up for the show, the staff at Captain Lawrence Brewery had already set up the stage. They had some great ideas and jumped on them. They took stacks of pallets and placed them in 3 rows to form a nice sized stage that looked like it belonged in a brewery! Sound was very good up front, but noticeably echoing as you moved back from the stage as is expected. There are brewing silos and lots of bottles in this building. There is also plenty of room to dance and move around so, its fine being up front!

But as mentioned, no photographs from our pro! We had to take our own with our phones! Fortunately today’s phones take better pics than they used to, but these are not going to be the usual quality you are used to on this site.

Overall, this show was another successful event as we fine tune how to party in a brewery! NEXT Music has continuously brought fantastic music with a fun party atmosphere to the Westchester area and this was a perfect example. Please check out the links below and peak at the people involved.

Behind The Board – A Great New Change To NEXT Charity Concert Series

We are really excited by the change of venue to the NEXT Charity Concert Series! REALLY!!! When is the last time you got to hold a monthly party/concert at a brewery? Yep..unless you own one yourself, NEVER!!! But that is the new change to the already awesome NEXT Charity Concert Series. We’re moving to the Captain Lawrence Brewery! While the weather is good and warm, we’ll be outside celebrating music and charity! And when the weather begins to become cold we’ll head inside.

Chris Bro of NEXT has begun putting together a stellar line-up and chose an incredible way to start off at the new venue:

8/23 Black Taxi

9/21 My Pet Dragon

Black Taxi is well known to our area and if  you’ve attended the NEXT Charity Concert Series with any regularity then you’ve heard/seen them a few times. My Pet Dragon put on an incredible set at Paulie’s for NEXT earlier this year, but if you have been attending the Alive @ Five in Stamford, CT then you saw them put on a stellar performance that had Columbus Park dancing away!

We’re especially excited for this show as we get to really use our sound systems. Most of you have heard the awesomeness of the BNK sound rig, but not all of you have heard the outdoor rig! (PCTV we did not use the outdoor format although it was outside).

So mark it on your calendars to be at the Captain Lawrence Brewery 444 Saw Mill River Road in Elmsford, NY (so easy to get to!) and join us for the NEXT Charity Concert Series!!!
