Behind The Board – The Winery & The Summer Wind

This Sunday, April 7th,  we began our working relationship with Maxim Records in NY. Stefano and Liz put together a world-class event at an old church converted into a restaurant/wine bar/music venue known as the Winery At Saint George. With a surprisingly decent sized stage and really warm acoustics, this was a fantastic setting for Maxim Records to show off some of their talents, which included Claire Walsh, Grace Doty, and Sarina Santore. It was quite a setting for a rock concert. A battle of contrasts if you will.

The room was relatively easy to dial in for us. The only issue was the rear alcove. Setting the drums up there made an amazing sound chamber for a heavy hitting drummer. The warmth of the room really worked for the power singers like Sarina. Claire Walsh was absolutely fun. Hopefully Yorktown and the surrounding areas really support this great venue for years to come. The next event for Maxim will be June 30th. We will post details later on our calendar.

Behind The Board – Spring Music

Here we are. Not but a week a way from the start of spring and our spring music schedule is loaded with great shows. Chris Bro from NEXT announced his spring concert schedule a few days ago from South by Southwest (SXSW)in Austin, Texas. The series, which supports different charities for each performance, will continue to be held at the Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford, NY.

The NEXT schedule is posted with the rest of our public schedule on our Calendar page here on our website. NEXT returns from SXSW in Spril with Glint, an ElectroPop band out of the Hudson Valley, NY area. In May one of our favorite bands, The Attic Ends, will return to NEXT in support of a new release. June brings Wild Adriatic’s solid rock show through the brewery. We have been proud to be a partner to NEXT over the years. Watching the Captain Lawrence Brewery incarnation of NEXT grow the way it has has been exciting for us.

The series is still accepting sponsors so if your company is interested you can contact Chris Bro through www.allthingsnext.com. You should also contact Chris if you would like your charity involved in his NEXT Charity Concert Series.

We also will be returning to the brewery for a show in May with American Pinup. We will discuss more about that show in a future post.

It is also important to mention BNK Production’s newest relationship with Maxim Records. We will be working with a number of their talents in upcoming performances. The first show will be a sold out show this April at the Winery in St George. Having had the chance to sit in a studio and observe the show rehearsals a few weeks ago, we”re pretty excited about getting to work with Maxim and their talents.

The Calendar page is a new feature to our website. It will only show you the public events that our DJ’s, bands, and production staff are working on. All private events will not be listed there for the time being. So if you need a DJ or small event production at your Wedding, Party, Corporate Event, or Speaking Engagement, contact us through the contact page here on the site or call us at 203-200-0265. Keep an eye on our calendar for more changes to come too the music schedule as well. This is going to be an exciting spring!

Be Effective – Be Heard

Behind The Board – As Winter Ends

Winter being easy on our schedule, we were still involved in quite a few great gigs. The biggest would be the obvious, the NEXT Charity Concert Series which featured Black Taxi. The concert series, promoted by Chris Bro of allthingsnext.com (NEXT Music), has been building a great audience since the move to the Captain Lawrence Brewery. This show is already an award winning event and is one of the best things that happen regularly in Westchester County, New York. If you’re in the South Western Connecticut or Northern New Jersey areas you’re well in reach for a quick Thursday drive to see an incredible concert, drink awesome brews (or wine..) and get home at a decent hour. Of course, you could always extend your weekend by starting it on Thursday!

We always love working with Black Taxi. We’ve done production for a ton of their shows over the years. They are a great bunch of guys. There is a reason why they’re so popular in this area. Their shows are huge and entertaining. This January event at the Captain Lawrence Brewery was  even more so! Black Taxi has relocated out of the New York area for a temporary time to work on their next album. (You people in Austin, TX can catch them doing surprise shows in the area as they work down there on the album). This was one of their farewell shows. The set included all their biggest songs and at one point, they brought up a bunch of people out of the audience to help them with a song. One of our photographers, Doug (Focus in Digital) was on site, as usual, getting some great pics.

We’re working with some really great people on some big things for the coming spring and summer. One of these big moments will be with Maxim Records performances starting at The Winery At Saint George in New York State. Maxim Records works with some of the world’s greatest talents so we’re really excited for  this new partnership and getting a chance to work with these talented people.

Remember as we head into Spring here, BNK  Productions is a partnership of some of  the best people in event services in the New York Metro area. If you need a Wedding DJ, Party DJ, or Karaoke DJ, we work with some of the best in the area. If you’re getting married, we can provide you with  quality photography and video as well as the DJs. You should especially consider us when your looking at doing an outdoor wedding. Having audio services outdoors is vital to a great ceremony. Also, you really don’t want to rely on the wedding hall/venue to provide you with their minimal sounds system with absolutely no production. Honestly, why would you want such an important night to sound like a Drive Thru at a restaurant on the highway anyways?

Check out our About Us page for more information.

We’re looking forward to adding the fun to your party in 2013!

Behind The Board – Starting Where We Started

This year is starting in a great way for us. Our first concert this year will be Black Taxi. The third time in a year that we’ll have worked with them. The show will be for NEXT Music (allthingsnext.com) Charity Concert Series which is how we started the music season last year! In style with My Pet Dragon at Paulie’s in Pleasantville, NY. This year will be at the Captain Lawrence Brewery, our most fun venue! We’re expecting this show to sell out just like the last time we worked with Black Taxi at Captain Lawrence Brewery. We’re also expecting this to be just as fun as last time! So if you are going to the show this Thursday get your tickets at Captain Lawrence’s website (linked above).

Winter is usually slower for us. Not that the music stops, but there are a lot less weddings, festivals, and corporate events once you get past Christmas and New Years. Some birthday parties get planned. The biggest holiday of winter is Valentine’s day and that usually doesn’t draw crowds to large parties. Weddings do happen but really not a lot. This is where we get to work more on recording music and also catch up on new music we haven’t seen.

This is also the time where we begin scheduling our DJs and bands for the coming seasons weddings and festivals, so please give us a call (203) 200 – 0265 and get on the schedule soon.

Last year was a busy year for us. We had some milestone events happen in 2012 as well as some amazing fun! We did a small gallery of pics to give you a view of last years moments. Most pics were taken by Doug at Focus In Digital. Some were taken by camera phones as well. You should be able to tell the difference!  Keep any eye out on our blog for pics and recordings from this Thursday’s Black Taxi gig and also links to recordings from last years great events coming up soon.
